Some Music I Liked This Week

The Districts

The Districts released their single "Ordinary Day" so long ago (March), that I almost forgot they had an LP on the way. I stumbled upon Popular Manipulations earlier this week and it's all I've been listening to since. This opening anthem is the punch to the chakra I needed during a sleepy week.

Sam Evian

In the same way that Whitney's Light Upon the Lake is the perfect soundtrack to a lazy summer day, so is this dreamy joint from Sam Evian. "Need You" is the title track from an upcoming EP, which comes out this fall on Saddle Creek.

Alex Cameron (feat. Angel Olsen)

Just when I thought Alex Cameron's dance moves were the peak of my interest in the Aussie musician, he goes and duets with Angel Olsen (although, it's my suspicion that she's singing backup vocals on "Candy May"). Don't worry, there's more dancing in this video, too.
