Some Music I Liked This Week

Slowdive

I was too young to experience Slowdive in their heyday of the early '90s, but thanks to the 2014 Pitchfork Music Festival, I was introduced to their shoegaze stylings. I don't know where long-time fans will stand on the new material (they'll probably love it), but I dig. They're releasing their first album in 22 years in May.

Mr. Jukes (feat. BJ the Chicago Kid)

The visuals for this video for Mr. Jukes are equally (maybe more?) stunning than the song itself. Apparently this is the product of Bombay Bicycle Club frontman Jack Steadman.

Naked Giants

Here's another recommendation from Car Seat Headrest's Will Toledo. He sent his Twitter followers to the Naked Giants' recent KEXP session and I followed up by doing some research Googling the band. They rock hard. Their R.I.P. EP is out now.
