Some Music I Liked This Week

Wavves X Cloud Nothings

Jager and Bowie, Cornell and Vedder, Jackson and Murphy. Could Baldi and Williams enter this pantheon of music's great collaborations? Find out for yourself by listening to the Wavves X Cloud Nothings collaboration, No Life For Me, on Bandcamp.

together PANGEA

A few people listed together PANGEA on their Favorites Music of 2014 lists last winter. Since then, I've been on the lookout for new material, which is exactly what we have here in "No Oz", a b-side to a split 7" with their friends, Audacity.

Speaking of my favorite music of 2014, Ought is set to release a follow up to More Than Any Other Day entitled Sun Coming Down. The lead single, "Beautiful Blue Sky" is a nearly-eight-minute jaunt through the observations of everyday life.

First Listen: Jason Isbell, White Reaper

Jason Isbell graced us with is presence in Sioux Falls last night, brining a sold out Orpheum Theater to its feet on more than one occasion. Later that night, he tweeted out a link to a preview of his new album, Something More Than Free, which comes out July 17. I'm just glad I was in the audience to hear a live preview of the preview.

I wouldn't mind seeing White Reaper in Sioux Falls. You can stream their album, White Reaper Does It Again, too.

You don't have to wait for White Reaper to visit Sioux Falls to hear some live rock 'n' roll. You could just show up to Total Drag tomorrow night for Weed. I'll be out of town, so you'll have to enjoy it for the both of us.
