Some Music I Liked This Week

Diane Coffee

After an extensive And Star Power... tour with Foxygen, Shaun Fleming is ready to release a new album with Diane Coffee. His debut album, My Friend Fish, was one of my favorite albums of 2013. Its perfect blend of rock and soul is something I think we can expect him to expand on with Everybody's A Good Dog (September 4) based on the lead single, "Everyday". Diane Coffee received rave reviews from their live shows on their last tour, so hopefully they'll come close enough to Sioux Falls for me to catch them this time around.

The Arcs

By my estimation, it's been six years since Dan Auerbach broke away from The Black Keys for another project (his solo record, Keep It Hid, was actually my gateway into his catalog). But recently, Auerbach announced his latest project, The Arcs, which is a collaboration with Richard Swift, Leon Michels, Homer Steinweiss, Nick Movshon, Kenny Vaughan and the women of Mariachi Flor De Toloache. Yours, Dreamily is out September 4.
