Some Music I Liked This Week

Sean Rowe

Sean Rowe and his captivating, resonant voice are back with a soulful new single. "Madman" will appear on his new record which will be released in September. The only way I'd be able to perform a Sean Rowe song would be to start recording immediately after I woke up from a full night's sleep. Then and only then is my voice deep and smokey enough to elicit Rowe's sultry tones.

The gentlemen of Alt-J sampled Miley Cyrus for their new single, "Hunger of the Pine," which, of course, upset the Internet. And to the Internet I say, "Don't hate." Much like Sean Rowe, Alt-J will release a new album in September. No word on whether or not they planned it that way. I can't even be sure if they know each other.

How To Dress Well

Stream What Is This Heart, the smooth, pop-tastic new album from How To Dress Wall over on his website. I especially like the track "Repeat Pleasure." But I don't want to force that affection on you or anything. You can like whichever songs you want. In fact, you can dislike the whole album altogether, but you probably won't. If you do, I'm sorry?

Sondre Lerche

Sondre Lerche has a new single called "Bad Law" that reaffirms his position in my heart as my favorite Norwegian. All apologies to Roald Dahl. Who's your favorite Norwegian?

List of Norwegians.

Boy, OK Go knows how to have a good time. It's also possible that they know sorcery. I don't know how else to explain their growing catalog of magnificent one-take music videos.
