2012: Favorite Albums

My year-end music lists have been wildly inconsistent the past three years. From unscientific ranking systems to variations in the number of entries, it's clear that I need to settle on a process before I upset my adoring fan. After some thought, the winning formula is this: Take my 15 favorite albums of the year and simply list them in alphabetical order. It's that easy.

This year's list highlights soulful new artists, marks the return of artists who've made year-end lists in the past, and adds a new feature, JURY'S OUT, which lists albums I enjoyed, but wasn't able to give enough attention in 2012. It's my way of giving a few albums an honorable mention. And since I'm not a critic, I'll save you from an uneducated review and tag each album with a three-word review. Check out my favorites this year and leave yours in the comments.
